HGV 7.5 Tonne Driver – Coalville

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our well-established client based in Coalville, Leicestershire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression within a busy transport operation.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV 7.5 Tonne Driver, C1 Driver, Delivery Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Van Driver, Commercial Driver, or LGV Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
 • Start times between 04:00 – 05:00
 • Up to 12-hour shifts

Rates of Pay

 • £14.80 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV 7.5 Tonne Driver, your duties will include:

 • Operating and driving 7.5 Tonne (Category C1) vehicles safely and efficiently
 • Completing deliveries in line with planned routes and schedules
 • Carrying out pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections
 • Ensuring all loads are safe and secure before departure
 • No heavy lifting involved
 • Adhering to all road traffic legislation and transport regulations
 • Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
 • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
 • Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV 7.5 Tonne Driver, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category C1 Driving Licence
 • A minimum of six months' Category C1 driving experience
 • A valid CPC Qualification Card
 • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
 • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
 • No major endorsement codes
 • A good level of spoken and written English
 • A strong understanding of road traffic legislation and vehicle safety
 • Excellent punctuality, time management and communication skills

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial driving experience
 • Multi-drop delivery experience
 • Customer-facing delivery experience

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
